For more than 20 years, Authur Gorman has been dedicated to serving the Shasta County community. His commitment to service is guided by a belief in excellence, personal responsibility, and the importance of investing in the next generation. Authur’s leadership includes two years on the Junior Wolves Board, followed by founding Upward Flag Football in Shasta County. As director, he oversaw a program serving nearly 300 students and coordinated many volunteers, creating opportunities for young people to develop teamwork, character, and confidence. A father of three and a deep advocate for parental rights, Authur believes that parents play a vital role in their children’s education. He is committed to ensuring schools remain focused on their core mission: providing a quality education that prepares every student for future success.

In addition to his community involvement, Authur has spent over 17 years serving Shasta County as a registered nurse, caring for families during life’s most critical moments. This healthcare experience has strengthened his commitment to accountability, service, and putting people first. Believing that meaningful change begins at the local level, Authur chose to serve on the Shasta County Board of Education. There, he has worked to promote academic excellence, support parental involvement, and ensure that educational decisions remain focused on the specific needs of students. Throughout his career and community service, Authur has remained rooted in one simple principle: when we prioritize students, families, and strong educational foundations, our entire community benefits.
